Jason T. LeRoy is currently serving as the Director, Advanced Solutions, Residential HVAC at Ingersoll Rand. In this position, he has oversight of the most technically innovative engineering and technical team in the company, with the goal of developing the future technology tools for the next generation of products. His team develops technology internally, participates in university research development efforts, and partners with industry consortiums and government agencies to further the advancement of the science of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and energy utilization. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University in 1995, his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1997, and his MBA from Indiana University in 2012.

In 1998, Mr. LeRoy started at Trane as a research engineer where he lead a team of four analysts in the development of an advanced thermal system simulation tool for all residential and light commercial unitary products. In 2006, he became the Modeling and Analysis Team Leader where he was responsible for leading, managing, and staffing a global system and component modeling and analysis team consisting of a group of ten analysts in Shanghai, China office and three research engineers at the Tyler, Texas office. Since 2010, Jason was responsible for staffing, managing, and leading, a high performance, cross-functional and global product development team, culminating in the commercialization of Trane’s most innovative product platform. The team he led developed the next generation of flagship products for Trane and was responsible for all aspects of refrigeration design, control algorithm development, system reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and meeting cost and efficiency targets. Totaling more than 60 engineers, this product launch represented one of the largest development teams Trane has ever dedicated to a project. His team won the 2013 President’s Award for Growth and Innovation for the Trane TruComfort Variable Speed product launch.

Jason is the holder of two pending patents related to expansion valve control and refrigerant system charge management. Jason has served as Chairman of several Technical Committees within American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), has Chaired ASHRAE Research Project Committees, and was president of the ASHRAE East Texas Chapter. Jason is also a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
