The Office of Research facilitates development and management of research initiatives, both within and beyond the College, as faculty members collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives.  It identifies funding opportunities, supports team building, and assists in development of large scale proposals and interdisciplinary centers, which are often multi-institutional. Working with the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Office manages the limited submission process for College proposals and provides cost share and seed funding for strategic initiatives. It also promotes industrial interaction and commercialization of technology. The Office of Research also has oversight responsibility for research faculty and postdoctoral researchers. This role has expanded as the research enterprise within the CoE has grown in recent years, and the additional research faculty have been recruited.
