Anil Bajaj, Head of Mechanical EngineeringThe mission of the undergraduate curriculum is to prepare its graduates to embark on professional engineering careers as educated, responsible citizens , who have both the motivation and ability for lifelong personal and professional growth. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in basic engineering principles while at the same time expanding student reasoning, communication and problem solving skills. To round out the undergraduate educational experience, students are encouraged to join one or more of the engineering student organizations.

The School's graduate program is one of the oldest and most distinguished in the United States. Through the years, the School has acquired an international reputation for excellence in its wide-ranging curriculum and diverse research activities. The School offers graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy.

One of the School's most valued resource is our alumni. For over a century, Purdue's Mechanical Engineering alumni have made significant contributions in industry, education and government. It is our alumni who are the ultimate creators and guardians of Purdue's Mechanical Engineering reputation.
