Thermal Systems Research at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Purdue University

Purdue faculty are engaged in a wide range of research activities related to thermal systems that involves disciplines of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, controls, and computer science to investigate technology improvements. Applications include compressors, heat pumps, refrigeration equipment, electronics cooling, heat exchangers, thermal storage, small-scale power production, appliances, etc.

Mechanical Engineering faculty work closely with the Center for High Performance Buildings, Herrick Laboratories, and the Architectural Engineering Program within Civil Engineering.
