Dr. Rossi received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1995 after working at Herrick Labs with Professor Braun on HVAC diagnostic technology. Leading up to that point he achieved a master’s degree in applied Physics from Caltech and masters and bachelor’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering from SUNY Buffalo. After fi nishing school, Dr. Rossi has been working to develop and drive HVAC diagnostic technology into the marketplace at Field Diagnostic Services, Inc., a company he helped create while finishing his work at Purdue. Over the past 20 years, his job evolved from technical engineering roles to more management and business development. He is currently President and CEO of Field Diagnostics. Field Diagnostics continues to advance the technology needed to better manage the performance and energy use of large fl eets of unitary HVAC equipment as information technology evolves through smart phones and tablets, big data and cloud computing. Th ese eff orts play a significant role in their client’s efforts to run sustainable businesses and meet global warming related targets.

Field Diagnostic is located in historic Bristol PA, along the Delaware River just north of Philadelphia. Dr. Rossi, his wife of 24 years - Ann, 17 year old son Lejf and 12 year old daughter Asta live in Princeton NJ about 20 minutes away. Field Diagnostics employs 25 people including technical support staff across the US.

Field Diagnostics has an on-going relationship with Purdue and Herrick Labs, often collaborating on connecting emerging technology into the marketplace including an active project to demonstrate synchronized unit coordination control of multiple HVAC units at Bank of America. Field Diagnostics is actively working to bring this technology into the broader marketplace.
