Chair Bio
Joe Tort has worked international education for 17 years with experience in study abroad administration, international student advising, international admissions, and intercultural training. He holds a BS in Anthropology and MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs. In his current role as Associate Director for Professional Practice at Purdue University, he coordinates Purdue’s Co-op Program and the Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education (GEARE), serving more than 1,300 students annually. Joe is collaborating with Purdue’s School of Languages and Cultures on an NEH Grant to develop new opportunities to enhance language and intercultural competencies of Purdue Engineering students.
