Presenter Bios
Francisco Montalvo is the Assistant Director for Global Projects at Purdue University’s Office of Professional Practice. From this role, he is responsible for the organization and instruction of experiential learning programs. His activities include overseeing internships, research projects, and study abroad opportunities for engineering students. In addition, he has collaborated in the development of relationships with global partners in industry and academia in connection with the GEARE program. He has experience in curricular design for programs in STEM education at various institutions around the world. In 2013 he joined Siemens AG in Berlin, Germany as program manager for their certification programs in mechatronics for Latin America. He worked on the implementation of programs with best practices from the German vocational training model. Francisco is a mechanical engineer by training and currently pursues a Ph.D. from the Lyles School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University. His research interests focus on the intersection between education, innovation, and sustainability.
