FYE Registration Information

FYE Students in the Transition to Major Process Registration Information

First Year Engineering students who are in the Transition to Major process are required to work with their first choice professional school for advising. Students who indicate ME as their first choice school will be sent an email with a link to an online portal where they will review information about ME and learn about making a plan-of-study (POS). Students will the upload their POS via this portal where a ME advisor will review the document. Once the POS is approved, the student will be sent an additional email to schedule a group advising session. At this advising session, more information about ME will be shared, students will learn about the opportunities in ME, and their next semester courses will be discussed.

Registration Timeline for FYE Students in the Transition to Major Process

Students who indicated ME for their first choice of professional school will receive an email with the link to the portal approximately week nine of the semester. Group advising appointments will take place approximately one-two weeks prior to close of the registration window. Group advising appointments are with a ME academic advisor and no more than eight other students.

FYE Students in the Transition to Major Process Who Miss a Registration Appointment

First Year Engineering students who are in the Transition to Major process are required to work with their first-choice professional school for advising. If a student intends to transition to ME and misses their advising appointment, fails to make an advising appointment, or arrives more than 10 minutes late to an appointment, the student will not be seen by an advisor until the first day of open registration. This is to ensure all students in the transition process have the ability to meet with an ME advisor prior to the close of the registration window. Due to the volume of students, advisors do not have the ability to have multiple appointments for the same students.
