Presenter Bios

Eugene  Rutz,  MS,  PE  serves  as  Academic  Director  in   the   College   of   Engineering   and   Applied   Science   at   the   University   of   Cincinnati.      He   provides   academic   and  administrative  oversight  of  the  college’s  Master  of  Engineering    programs,    online    degree    programs,    and eLearning  initiatives.    He serves as the coordinator on collaborative programs with international partner universities and has created and led study abroad programs for engineering students.  Eugene  has  served  as  PI,  Co-PI  or  Investigator  on  multiple  grants  related  to  instructional  technology,  learning  styles  and  student  performance.    

Stéphanie  Gallaire has been an associate ESL professor at the  Université  de  Lorraine, Nancy, France for  13  years. In 2014 she was appointed  Director  of  International  Relations for  the School of  Energy Engineering (ENSEM). She has established and coordinated several cooperation and dual degree programs and was awarded substantial  Erasmus + mobility  grants  for  staff  and  students.  She has been actively involved in strengthening ties between international  students  and  partners through student  projects or  joint  courses.

Kate Harty is a third-year Biomedical Engineering student also pursuing her MBA through the ACCEND (Accelerated Engineering Degree) Program at the University of Cincinnati. She has completed two co-op rotations at Mammotome in Cincinnati and is considering a career in medical device sales. As a student of Professor Rutz, she participated in his Global Technical Workforce course. Through this course she grew a greater appreciation for the advantages, as well as the challenges, of working in cross-cultural teams.
