Suresh Garimella receives ASME Charles Russ Richards award

Suresh Garimella has been selected as the 2014 Charles Russ Richards Memorial Award recipient.  The award was established as a joint award of Pi Tau Sigma and ASME  to recognize outstanding achievement in mechanical engineering for 20 years or more following graduation.

Dr. Garimella is the R. Eugene & Susie E. Goodson Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering, and Chief Global Affairs Officer for Purdue University.  He is a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and an editor of Applied Energy and Experimental Heat Transfer. He has co-authored more than 450 refereed journal and conference publications, edited or contributed to several books, and has been recognized with various research and teaching awards.  Garimella also continues as director of the NSF Cooling Technologies Research Center, which includes efforts to develop energy-efficient cooling technologies for computers and investigating the precise physics behind how cooling takes place in miniature systems.
