Three Purdue ME students have won poster awards at the 2017 IEEE ITherm Conference in Orlando, FL.
  • Srivathsan Sudhakar won Best Student Poster Award in Thermal Management 1: Component Level, for “An area-scalable two-layer evaporator wick concept for high-heat-flux vapor chambers”
  • Gaurav Patankar won Best Student Poster Award in Thermal Management 2: System Level, for “A time-stepping analytical model for 3D transient vapor chamber transport”
  • Todd A. Kingston won Outstanding Student Poster Award in Emerging Technologies & Fundamentals for “Rapid-bubble-growth instability at the onset of microchannel flow boiling”

ITherm is the leading international conference for scientific and engineering exploration of thermal, thermo-mechanical and emerging technology issues associated with electronic devices, packages, and systems. The students are all part of the Cooling Technologies Research Center (CTRC), under the supervision of Justin Weibel and Suresh Garimella.
