Herrick students win awards at NoiseCon
Several Herrick Labs researchers were honored at NoiseCon 2019, the annual meeting of the Institute of Noise Control Engineers (INCE-USA).
Prof. J. Stuart Bolton delivered the opening plenary address of the conference; his presentation was, “Poro-Elastic Materials and the Control of Low Frequency Sound.” Also, Herrick students Daniel Carr and Yongjie Zhuang were joint winners of the Student Paper Competition. Daniel, a PhD student working with Prof. Patricia Davies, won for his presentation, “An Investigation of The Contribution of Heaviness to Models of Annoyance for Sonic Booms and Other Impulsive Sounds”, and Yongjie, a PhD student working with Prof. Yangfan Liu, won for his presentation, “Study on the Cone Programming Reformulation of Active Noise Control Filter Design in the Frequency Domain”.
