Issam Mudawar receives Space Processing Award

Issam Mudawar, Betty Ruth and Milton B. Hollander Family Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has received the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) 2019 Space Processing Award.

 

Mudawar received the award during the November 23 awards ceremony of the 2019 American Society of Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) Meeting in Denver, Colorado. This award, which consists of a medallion and a certificate, is presented biennially for significant contributions in space processing or further use of microgravity for space processing.  Mudawar was recognized for decades of research and advances in fluid-based heat transfer in aerospace applications, including the Flow Boiling and Condensation Experiment (FBCE) for the International Space Station (ISS).
