Mr. Shallie M. Bey, Jr.
A 1971 graduate, Shallie Monroe Bey, Jr. is the youngest person ever appointed to the prestigious position of Superintendent, Department of the Treasury, United States Mint, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Responsible for the operation of the largest mint in the U. S., Bey has also served as the industrial representative to the Office of Minority Affairs and the Department of State.
Bey served as a resident engineer for the Minority Introduction to Engineering Program at Purdue and was named a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus in 1979.
