John D. Hague received his BSEE from Purdue in 1951. Now twice retired, he is a consultant in the fields of industrial management, advance technologies, and their applications.

For thirteen years, Hague was director of engineering at the Naval Avionics Center, the Naval Air Systems Command's research, development, and manufacturing center for electronics systems for airborne, space, and weapons systems applications. The holder of five patents in the field of electronics, he was executive director of the Center at the time of his retirement in 1984.

Hague next served as president of the Corporation for Science and Technology (CST), an organization that encourages business growth in the Hoosier state. In 1988, he became chairman of the board of the CST and retired from active management.

Hague serves on a number of corporate boards and is active in community affairs. He has been president of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis, chairman of the board of Community Hospitals of Indianapolis, and a member of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Dean of Engineering at Purdue.

Hague was named a Sagamore of the Wabash by both Governors Orr and Bayh; in 1980, the President of the United States conferred upon him the rank of Meritorious Executive of the Senior Executive Service. He was also awarded the Department of the Navy's Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the highest civilian award granted by the Secretary of the Navy. Hague was named a Purdue Distinguished Engineering Alumnus in 1977 and an honorary doctorate in 1984.
