Jay Gore is the Vincent P. Reilly Professor in Mechanical Engineering. He is also associate dean of engineering for research and entrepreneurship. He received his MS and PhD degrees from Penn State and serves as an associate editor of the AIAA Journal. Gore has received the Best Paper in Heat Transfer Literature Award from ASME and a Presidential Young Investigator Award. His research is in the areas of combustion and radiation heat transfer. Recently, he has applied infrared radiation sensing to bio-sensing. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 publications and has directed the work of 50 researchers.
