Bernard F. Sergesketter has enjoyed a diverse career at AT&T. He has had significant opportunities to manage change and introduce quality processes. In the finance area, Sergesketter has had responsibility for the stock and bond division and served on AT&T's financial planning committee. He headed a department at Bell Laboratories which developed a computer-based system for directory assistance and headed the business information systems organization for a major AT&T subsidiary. In addition, he has been involved with equipment engineering projects for the long distance network.

In the area of marketing, Sergesketter had officer responsibility for product management and market management for a $3 billion AT&T subsidiary. He has held positions in the sales division as salesman, division manager, general manager, and officer, and has had multiple roles in the operations area.

He is a current or past member of the board of various organizations, including the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, the Purdue University Foundation, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Illinois Council on Economic Education and the National Engineering Consortium. He is a member of the Chicago Club and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Sergesketter was named a Purdue Distinguished Engineering Alumnus in 1988 and received the International Fellow of the Year Award from Ball State University in 1991.
