From the Dean: June 2022
Dear Purdue Engineering Community,
I am deeply humbled by the Board of Trustees vote today in appointing me as the next president of Purdue University. I am ever grateful for the honor to dedicate myself in service of the talents at our university.
From July through December, I will focus on the presidential transition, in addition to the EVP responsibilities. An Interim Dean of Engineering will be announced before June 30.
Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve the amazing talents at Purdue Engineering in four of the past five years. Thank you for your dedication and creativity day in and day out, through thick and thin, in accelerating and in maximizing the excellence of learning, research and engagement. Pinnacle of Excellence at Scale is more than a goal, but also a mindset and a pursuit. The most enjoyable part for me was to get to learn, through this pursuit, from many of you.
In future years, I won’t be far from the College, and will remain a faculty member and a colleague of yours. I will dearly cherish this continuing honor.
