From the Dean: September 2018 (A)

Dear Purdue Engineering Community,

As just announced by President Daniels at the event in Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering, a Purdue-led consortium, PULSE (Partners for University-led Solutions Engine), won a 5-year, $70M award from USAID (United States Agency for International Development). PULSE Consortium is the only recipient in the country of this innovative program from USAID.

The PULSE team, led by Arvind Raman and includes other units at Purdue as well as consortium partner institutions, will have a special responsibility and opportunity: sustainable impact from research to global development, prosperity, liberty and self-reliance.

This marks another milestone in amplifying the land-grant mission from the heartland to the hemispheres. It also exemplifies the Pinnacle of Excellence at Scale for Purdue Engineering: we can aspire to successfully lead those one-in-the-country opportunities.

What a special way to start the new academic year as we look into the next 150 years. Events from our College, as part of the Purdue 150th, can be found at https://engineering.purdue.edu/150

Boiler up!
