To advocate positive change, I will use my voice to continue mentoring our Black youth to encourage the choice to join the STEM field either as an undergrad or graduate student, and I will use my actions to be the change I want to see by becoming a faculty member, as Black women faculty are so desperately needed in academia.

Biography

Maya Luster is a current PhD student in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. She earned her MS in Industrial and System Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 2018 and her BS in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University (MSU) in 2015. She is currently a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) in the Next-generation Human-systems and Cognitive Engineering (NHanCE) lab at Purdue. She has experience as a GRA in the Occupational Biomechanics Lab at RIT and Undergraduate Research Assistant at MSU. She also has co-op and internship industry experience with numerous Fortune 500 companies.
