Purdue researchers collaborate with Cummins to develop wireless charging technology for heavy-duty vehicles

As part of a $5 million award from the United States Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technologies Office, Purdue researchers from the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering are collaborating with Cummins Inc., Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Walmart to develop wireless charging technology for electric heavy-duty vehicles such as Class 8 trucks (tractor-trailers).

Prof. Junjie Qin receives NSF CAREER Award

Junjie Qin, assistant professor in Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award. These prestigious awards support junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through research and education, and the integration of these endeavors in the context of their organizations' missions. The awards, presented once each year, include a federal grant for research and education activities for five consecutive years.
