Project Description
Large-scale networks are prevalent in the engineered and natural world, from transportation systems to biological webs to social networks. These networks are a double-edged sword: they allow the nodes in the network to benefit from their connections to other nodes, but also allow errors, attacks, and misinformation to propagate throughout the network. This project aims to understand the impacts of network structure and the dynamics of fault/misinformation propagation on the functioning of large-scale networks where the nodes are strategic decision-makers. The project will blend ideas from control theory, network science, game theory, and behavioral economics to yield new insights into the design of reliable networked systems.
