First Time Researcher Fellowship
The Project & Application Portal for the Spring 2025 cohort of the First Time Researcher program is now closed.
Purdue undergraduates are encouraged to participate in the First-Time Researcher (FTR) fellowship during the upcoming spring semester. These opportunities are specifically designed for students who are new to college-level research, having completed less than a full semester's worth, including any summer research experiences.
As part of this program, selected researchers will receive a $1,000 stipend to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to their respective research lab.
ENGR 296 - First Time Researcher Course: The FTR Fellowship offers an associated course in which you can acquire valuable insights and skills to excel in your research pursuits. As a mandatory component of this program, participants will have the chance to showcase their research findings at the Spring Undergraduate Research Conference, in front of the Purdue academic community.
