Two staff members from the School of Nuclear Engineering received a Bravo Award from Purdue University. Nuclear Electronics Technician, David Storz and Secretary, Teresa Luse both received the award for their excellence in workplace performance.

As a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Victor Gervais was in charge of Hannibal’s flood wall construction and witnessed its success during the Great Flood of 1993, shortly after the levee was completed.

Dr. Tom Shih, J. William Uhrig and Anastasia Vournas Head and Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was appointed as a member of the Aeronautics Committee of the NASA Advisory Council.

Faculty and graduate students from Purdue’s Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and the College of Veterinary Medicine will be at the West Lafayette Farmer’s Market this summer to showcase how science and engineering are used by scientists, engineers, and clinicians at Purdue to advance science and medicine for human and animal health.

Five undergraduate IE students interned this summer at TVS Motor Company in Bangalore and Hosur, India, from May 5-26. The group of nine students also included three graduate students from the Krannert School of Management and one graduate student from Purdue Polytechnic.

Purdue IE junior Matthew A. Kortepeter was recognized at the May 13 Purdue Commencement ceremony for receiving a Charles O. McGaughey Leadership Award, along with five other students.

A life science startup, Bionode, has received a boost from Purdue Research Foundation’s Foundry Investment Fund (FIF), which invested $250,000 in the startup as a partial matching investment made in it by institutional and other investors.
