ECE's Ziaie commended for foot ulcer research story in Times of India

Babak Ziaie recently received coverage in the Times of India for his shoe insole technology for diabetic ulcers.

His research has shown that one of the ways to heal diabetes-related foot wounds is to give them oxygen. In turn, Ziaie, a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, created a system that gradually releases oxygen throughout the day so that a patient can have more mobility.

“It is great to see continued, prominent international recognition of your research,” said Mitch Daniels, Purdue president.
