Chandrasekar and Garimella elected AAAS fellows

Srinivasan Chandrasekar, professor of industrial engineering and materials engineering, and Suresh Garimella, the R. Eugene and Susie E. Goodson Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering, have been elected fellows of AAAS, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, an international professional association dedicated to advancing science around the world.

Srinivasan Chandrasekar, professor of industrial engineering and materials engineering, and Suresh Garimella, the R. Eugene and Susie E. Goodson Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering, have been elected fellows of AAAS, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, an international professional association dedicated to advancing science around the world.

Chandrasekar's research interests include manufacturing, materials processing, microsystems technology, and nanostructured materials. Garimella's research interests lie in microsystems engineering, micro- and nano-scale thermal phenomena, high-performance compact cooling technologies, electro-thermal co-design, and electronics packaging and materials processing.

AAAS elects fellows whose "efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished."
