Andrew C. Marcum received a master’s degree and PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He is currently a Lead Scientist and Engineering Fellow at RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) in Arlington, VA.
At BBN, Dr. Marcum serves as the lead principal investigator and technical director for BBN’s emerging RF technologies (ERFT) line of business (LoB). The ERFT LoB specializes in the development, demonstration, and transition of novel RF signal processing technologies that solve critical U.S. defense challenges and consists of more than 30 research scientists and engineers. In this role, Dr. Marcum has won and led numerous research and development programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community with combine value well in excess of $100M.
From 2006 to 2016, Dr. Marcum served as a Systems Engineer at Raytheon Company in Fort Wayne, IN. His research interests include the development of signal processing techniques to create novel applications of sparse arrays, special communications systems, passive surveillance systems, intelligent control processes, and electronic attack at the intersection of cyber and traditional electronic warfare.
