The College of Engineering recognized 110 staff members from 17 units with Bravo+ Awards in December 2023.

Derived from the Bravo Awards program established in 2013, Bravo+ honors excellence across all university areas and job functions by recognizing extraordinary employee achievements at every scale.

Staff are nominated by colleagues or supervisors, and criteria is based on one of the following categories: moving the university forward, operational excellence, innovation/creativity and fiscal stewardship. Awards are made in different amounts, based upon the significance of their contribution, and range from $500-$2,000.

“We received a record number of Bravo+ Award nominations this fall, which is a testament to the outstanding contributions our staff are making to the College of Engineering,” said Will Sondgerath, senior assistant dean for staff and senior director of operations in the College of Engineering. “Our staff are integral to the success to the college and the university."

Employees who have completed three months of service are eligible for Bravo+, with some exceptions. In fiscal year 2022, Purdue invested more than $600,000 in Bravo Awards, a number the university planned to double with Bravo+.
