Purdue Engineering rallies Boilermaker community to raise nearly $12 million on Day of Giving
Purdue University celebrated its 13th annual Day of Giving on April 29 with a powerful show of support for its College of Engineering, with 340 gifts totaling nearly $12 million in just 24 hours given to advance education, research and student success.
The one-day fundraising effort is part of the university’s comprehensive campaign, “Victories & Heroes: Your Campaign for Purdue,” which calls on Boilermakers worldwide to make a lasting impact. This year, alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends answered that call, reinforcing Purdue Engineering’s upward trajectory and national standing.
It comes as Purdue Engineering continues to gain recognition for excellence at scale, now ranked No. 4 overall among more than 200 engineering schools — behind only MIT, Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley — and No. 2 among public institutions. The college also boasts eight graduate programs ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report.
Purdue Engineering’s signature event for Purdue Day of Giving was Design Expo, which was hosted jointly with the School of Mechanical Engineering’s Malott Innovation Awards at the Purdue Armory. The event featured more than 1,000 students contributing to nearly 180 projects, including 44 that were sponsored by industry partners.
Funds raised during the Day of Giving will support scholarships, hands-on learning opportunities and groundbreaking research initiatives across disciplines, ensuring that Purdue Engineering remains at the forefront of engineering innovation.
From donors to the faculty, staff and students who championed outreach and storytelling throughout the day, their participating will ensure that Purdue Engineering continues to build momentum and a future defined by impact, innovation and global leadership.
