New Purdue Engineering Fellows to be named Sept. 12
Seven seniors will be awarded $20,000 each and join the elite group of Purdue Engineering Fellows. The announcements will be made during the fourth annual ceremony, to be held at 5:30 p.m., Sept. 12, in Fowler Hall. The public is invited to attend.
The gifts, which the recipients may use in any desired endeavor upon graduation, are made possible through the generosity of benefactors Robert H. Buckman (BSChE ’59) and his wife, Joyce A. Mollerup.
The Fellows program is designed to recognize the accomplishments, contributions, and potential of outstanding seniors who:
• Make a difference in the College and in the lives of others
• Bring creativity and imagination to their daily lives
• Demonstrate distinctive problem-solving abilities
• Are respected by their peers and faculty
During the couple’s campus visit, Buckman will be honored with the President’s Council Crystal Train from Purdue President Mitch Daniels.
