MSE/ChE’s Mansson represents Purdue, RESEC at Tokyo Olympics

Jan-Anders Mansson, distinguished professor of materials engineering and chemical engineering, executive director of the Ray Ewry Sports Engineering Center (RESEC), and co-executive director of the Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC) is in Tokyo, Japan, at the Olympic Games with other members of the International Olympic Committee and Purdue University athletes.

RESEC is a joint effort between Purdue Engineering and Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics. In its collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the center provides insights and expertise to enhance Olympic athletes’ performances.

Nine Boilermakers from five countries are representing Purdue in volleyball, swimming and diving, and track and field.

Mansson is the chairman of the Swimwear Approval Committee of the International Federation of Swimming (FINA) and is on the board of IOC’s Athlete365 Learning Gateway.
