Beth Holloway
The Women in Engineering Program (WIEP), directed by Beth Holloway, has been recognized with ABET's 2014 Claire L. Felbinger Award for Diversity.

The award recognizes U.S.-based educational entities, individuals, associations or firms, for extraordinary success in achieving or facilitating diversity and inclusiveness in technological segments of society. Felbinger, who died in 2008, had been chair of the American University’s Masters of Public Administration program. She also was on ABET’s Board of Directors from 1998 to 2004. Under her leadership, ABET’s Public Member Committee was the first to formally bring ABET’s diversity issues to the attention of the board.

The award will be presented at an awards dinner on Oct. 31 in Baltimore, Md.
