Arrieta and researchers in Switzerland have compared the wing to self-folding origami that could show how to make machines more adaptable and responsive while using less energy.

“Thank you for taking the time to speak with reporters to publicize your work. We’re fortunate to have you here,” said Purdue President Mitch Daniels in a letter to Arrieta.
