EEE Ph.D. candidate receives Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award

Ehsan Vahidi, a Ph.D. candidate in EEE has been awarded the 2018 Ecological Sciences and Engineering (ESE) Outstanding Research Award at the First Annual ESE Student Achievement Awards.

This award is given annually to an outstanding Ecological Sciences and Engineering graduate student in research.

Vahidi has studied the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) production sponsored by the Department of Energy through the Critical Materials Institute. Under the supervision of Professor Fu Zhao, Ehsan’s research has led to several additional awards including the 2018 College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award as well as the prestigious Donnan Dissertation Fellowship from the Purdue Graduate School for the 2017-18 academic year.
