Formerly the Global Engineering’s Innovation for International Development (I2D) Lab, the new program is launched by a $2.5M gift from Manahar (Manu) Shah, who received a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue in 1968. Shah and his family’s impactful commitment was announced on Nov. 2 at the signing ceremony.

Purdue Dean of Engineering Mung Chiang lead a delegation from College of Engineering and traveled to Taiwan recently to meet with alumni, grow industry and government partnerships, and strengthen university alliances. Anil K. Bajaj, the William E. and Florence Perry Head and Alpha P. Jamison Professor of Purdue’s School of Mechanical Engineering, will leave his position at the end of the 2018-19 academic year, he announced on November 15. After a sabbatical year, he plans to return to the ME faculty.

Papers published by faculty, a PhD student, and grad students in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering have garnered Editors’ Choice awards from the scientific journal Water Resources Research.
