Render receives IndianaINTERN.net award

Darshini Render, assistant director of student success in the College of Engineering, has received the 2016 Impact Award for “Career Development Professional of the Year” from IndianaINTERN.net.

She received two nominations for this award to recognize her professionalism, leadership, and passion for student achievement.

In her role, Render supports students so that they are able to pursue and achieve their internship and career goals. She started at Purdue as a career services consultant for international students, three years before becoming the assistant director of student success. Her major accomplishments include managing the International Student Peer Coaching program and developing the Cross Cultural Leadership Program (CCLP). Render also serves on the Academic Advisor's Committee for the College of Engineering.

“I would not be the same person I am today if I had not had the honor of meeting and working alongside Darshini Render at Purdue University,” said Tony Orr, student leader of CCLP and nominator. “She has made me a better candidate and person for the future.”

IndianaINTERN.net is an intern-matching program managed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, connecting students, employers, and secondary and higher education institutions since 2001. The awards recognized excellence in interns and the career professionals who help them achieved their goals. They were presented to winners at the 11th annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon held on February 8 in Indianapolis.
