Purdue's Engineering Management Master's Program Joins the Master of Engineering Management Programs Consortium

The Purdue Engineering Professional Education office announced that the Engineering Management Master's Program has been selected to join the Master of Engineering Management Programs Consortium (MEMPC). MEMPC is a small group of highly selective, forward-thinking professional graduate engineering programs dedicated to program relevancy, student networks, and joint outreach with a goal of raising the awareness of the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree, expanding its value-added opportunities and forging business partnerships.

"Joining the Master of Engineering Management Programs Consortium is a meaningful endorsement of our program's evident quality, industry relevance, and sustainable growth," said Eric VandeVoorde, the Professional Master's Program Administrator in the Office of Engineering Professional Education at Purdue University. "We look forward to serving as a contributing member in furthering the consortium's mission. Our students and alumni are thrilled at the development."

According to Mr. VandeVoorde, additional benefits of membership in the consortium include sharing best practices, benchmarking studies, and curriculum, raising the stature of engineering management through joint ventures, establishing student, faculty and alumni networking, providing employers with access to outstanding candidates, and raising awareness of the MEM to increase the value of the degree and propel graduates through their careers. Other members of the consortium include Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University Tufts, and the University of Southern California.

The Engineering Management Master's Program at Purdue University blends advanced engineering courses with business administration courses from Purdue's Krannert School of Management to mold engineers destined for leadership. The program is open to candidates from any engineering discipline who want to develop their engineering and business skills, but prefer an alternative to traditional MBA or masters in engineering.
