Ivantysynova to receive honorary doctorate
Monika Ivantysynova, the MAHA Named Professor in Fluid Power Systems, School of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, will be presented with an honorary doctoral degree from Lapeenranta University of Technology (LUT), Finland.
The conferment is scheduled this June. Ivantysynova, who received her PhD from Technical University Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, also has received an honorary doctorate from Slovak Technical University.
A Purdue Innovator Hall of Fame member and fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Ivantysynova studies fluid power system design, modeling and multi-domain simulation. Her research also includes energy-saving actuators, advanced transmission concepts, drive line control, computer-based optimization of positive displacement pumps and motors, smart structures, and optimization of tribiological systems by surface modification in micro- and nanoscale.
