Purdue Engineers Week

April 12-16, 2021

Engineering Week, or E-Week, is an annual celebration of Engineering. Purdue University’s E-Week is organized by the Purdue Engineering Presidents’ Council and is typically celebrated in the spring semester.

This spring E-Week will be celebrated April 12-16. Below is the tentative schedule of events.

Pick up a DIY build kit (Lego) and a donut while supplies last! Assemble kits on your own time.

Students will have the opportunity to try the wheelchair, go through an obstacle course and maybe even race Shelby Gruss, the former captain of the USA Wheelchair basketball team.

E-Week: ASABE Scavenger Hunt
Come down to the ABE building south of State Street and complete a scavenger hunt around the building! You’ll get to learn more about Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the process. Once you finish, on the Ag Mall, there will be Jimmy Johns, drinks, and a chance to chat outside!

Come participate in a design-build competition where teams of students will be tasked with building a table out of newspapers to support the most weight from bricks.

E-Week: AES Giveaway

This year’s Amelia Earhart Summit (AES), run by WiA and Graduate Women’s Gatherings, was a virtual, month-long event during March focused on “Implementing Diversity” with the intention to empower all students interested in a future in aerospace. Purdue WiA would like to thank all registrants for attending the 2021 AES by handing out free merchandise as part of E-Week, including AES t-shirts, lanyards, stickers, and pens! These are in limited supply and will be handed out first come, first served.

Purdue Women in Aerospace (WiA) strives to empower underrepresented minorities by providing undergraduate students with inclusive educational, outreach, professional, and social opportunities in the Aerospace Engineering (AAE) major at Purdue.

Come learn more about professional licensure at an informational booth Purdue Society of Professional Engineers members. Members can share information about the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and will be available to give advice on how to get started.

Check out a demonstration of a DIY electrocardiogram (ECG)! ECGs are used in hospitals and a mobile version can be found in many smartwatches today. You’ll be able to see your own heart’s electrical activity and learn more about Purdue MIND and what we do.
