What could and should AI do for society in the next 25 years?

In the last decade, we have seen tremendous progress in AI, in both its core technology and through its engineering, in improvement to our professional and personal lives. What is its trajectory moving forward, say, in the next 25 years? This question is framed in the context of the technological advances we want AI to make as well as the societal benefits and implications of such technology. We want to ponder both the positives and the potential downsides of AI, so that we can be wise enough to amplify the former and contain the latter.
