Donald Knebel received his BSEE from Purdue in 1968 and his JD from Harvard Law School in 1974. He is currently a partner in Barnes & Thornburg LLP and serves as co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department and chair of BTech, the firm’s Business and Technology Group. Prior to joining the firm in 1974, Knebel worked as an electronics design engineer for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. His law practice concentrates on cases of patent infringement, violations of antitrust laws, unfair competition and trademark infringement, to name a few.

Knebel is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1983. He has also been identified by Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business publication as “the best in Indiana for patent litigation.” He has led a variety of community activities, including the Board of Trustees of the Indianapolis Civic Theatre and the United Way Tocqueville Society, and has been active in efforts to facilitate the growth of technology industries in Indiana and to foster better relationships among people of different religions. Knebel resides in Zionsville, Indiana, with his wife, Jen. He and Jen have three children.
