Sam Endy received his bachelor’s degree from West Point and his master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue in 1967 and 1979 respectively. Endy, who has enjoyed a 26-year career in the telecommunications industry, is currently vice president and general manager of the Wireless Business Unit at Atheros Communications in Santa Clara, California. Prior to his appointment at Atheros, he served as president and CEO at both TeleCIS Wireless and ArrayComm. Endy was also executive vice president and COO of International Wireless, senior vice president and CSO of Centex Telemanagement, and corporate vice president of operations at Sprint. In these roles, he was a key player in building four communications companies in the U.S. and 10 mobile wireless companies in Asia and Latin America. In addition to these outstanding accomplishments, Endy has enjoyed a 22-year distinguished leadership career in the U.S. Army in a variety of combat, Pentagon (where he played a key role in creating the Volunteer Army), and academic positions, including service as tenured professor and deputy head of the electrical engineering department at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. He lives with his wife, Elionora, in Atherton, California.
