Jack R. Kelble, vice president of Raytheon Electronic Systems, is in charge of the work of more than 19,000 engineers at more than 20 locations. Headquartered in El Segundo, California, the Electronic Systems Business is the largest engineering organization in Raytheon and has revenues of approximately $8 billion. Electronic Systems has preeminent capabilities in radar, electro optics, missiles, and naval systems to be applied to surveillance and reconnaissance, missiles, air combat, and strike systems and air/missile defense systems.

Kelble received his bachelor's degree from Purdue in 1965 and his master's from the University of Pennsylvania. He worked for 14 years with RCA, holding a variety of engineering positions within that company, and completing the Graduate Business Management program at the Wharton School.

Kelble joined Raytheon in 1979 and has held a wide range of management positions within the company including assistant general manager of programs in the Equipment Division, manager of the Equipment Development Laboratories, and director of the Data Acquisition Directorate. He has also served as vice president of integrated systems in Command, Control and Communications and as manager of Raytheon's Command, Control, Communications and Surveillance activities.

Prior to this current assignment, Kelble was senior vice president and deputy general manager of the Sensors and Electronic Systems Segment. In this position he led activities in ground, shipboard, and airborne electronic defense systems. Kelble's extensive experience in engineering and management led to his selection as head of the Raytheon team for the acquisition of Texas Instruments Defense.

His community activities include serving as chairman of the Mt. Laurel (NJ) Economic Development Committee during 1978 and 1979 and heading the Financial Commission of Sudbury, Massachusetts, in 1995 and 1996.
