Paul S. Borzcik
Engineering releases the potential of science and technology into applications for the economic and social benefit of mankind. It is the fuel of the new economy.

Paul S. Borzcik is vice president and program manager of the Astrolink Program in the Telecommunication Programs Division of TRW's Space and Electronics Group. The Astrolink Program is a three-way consortium between an Italian communications company, Lockheed Martin, and TRW. It provides TRW's entry into the commercial Ka-band processed payload communication systems business. Borzcik is responsible for all aspects of program performance and has approximately 500 engineers who are involved in the project reporting to him.

The holder of two patents in the field of computer control systems, Borzcik earned his bachelor's degree at Purdue in 1972 and joined Cincinnati Milicron as an engineer. He completed his master's degree at the University of Cincinnati and earned a Master of Business Administration in Operations Research at Case Western Reserve University. He is also a graduate of UCLA's Executive Management Program.

Borzcik joined TRW Inc. in 1978 and worked with TRW's corporate science and technology staff in Cleveland before transferring to the Redondo Beach facility in 1981. He was manager for the Electronic Manufacturing Operations which manufactures multiple program, high-technology electronic hardware for spacecraft, and then was named manager of the Milstar Payload Program with responsibility for low and medium data-rate payloads. He was responsible for cost, schedule, and technical management which involved full engineering, manufacturing, software, subcontracts, integration, and test responsibilities. His success with the program is reflected by the fact that he was promoted to vice president when that program ended.
