Major: Astrodynamics and Space Applications

Why did you choose Aeronautics and Astronautics?
I love applying math and physics to interesting problems in spacecraft design and orbit mechanics.

Best event or organization you’ve participated in within AAE?
Researching UAS through the VIP program with the Air Force Research Lab and Dr. Goppert.

Best event or organization you’ve participated in outside of AAE?
Traveling for the Purdue Cycling Club (PCC) race season to other schools throughout the Midwest.

Why did you want to be an AAE Ambassador?
I enjoy demystifying AAE and making it more accessible to incoming students.

Favorite place on campus?
I like the engineering fountain because it's right in the middle of campus and has beautiful spring flowers and fall leaves.

Favorite class you’ve taken thus far and why?
My favorite class so far is AAE 340 (Dynamics & Vibrations) because I find orbital analysis and mission planning fascinating

What is one piece of advice you would give to a potential AAE student?
Make friends in your classes so you have a support system and reach out early when you don't understand something, because it will only get more difficult.;

Who is someone you look up to in the Aero/Astro industry and why?
I look up to Allissa Noffke, who works in human spaceflight operations at NASA Johnson because she is an alumnus of this program and I admire her optimistic mindset.

What motivates you to succeed?
I am motivated to succeed by looking back to when I was a space and math obsessed kid. I could have never imagined all the opportunities I would have. This helps me to be more forgiving to myself as I am learning and to continue working to see what else I can accomplish.

What is your ultimate career goal?
I hope to pursue a PhD in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering specializing in Astrodynamics and Space Applications and to enter industry as a subject matter expert.

What do you like to do when you’re not studying/in the lab or classroom?
I enjoy mountain biking with friends, volunteering for campus events, and going to Purdue football and basketball games.
