Robert Patty

Associate Professor of Engineering Practice in Construction Engineering & Management

Robert M. Patty received his undergraduate Civil Engineering and M.B.A. degrees from Colorado State University, and earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.  He will be joining the faculty as the Beavers Heavy Construction Distinguished Fellow.

Dr. Patty has more than 30 years of experience in heavy construction and lean engineering and management on projects all over the world. His former work includes appointments as Associate Professor of Construction Management at Brigham Young University as well as Assistant Professor of Construction Engineering and Management at Michigan Technology University. He is a licensed professional engineer.

An expert in Lean Construction practices, Dr. Patty’s work has focused on construction process improvement involving multidisciplinary teams.
