Upcoming External Recognition Opportunities
To help identify and secure prestigious external recognitions for our faculty, we provide a selected list of external recognition opportunities four times a year, upcoming quarter by quarter. This email contains a list of opportunities with deadlines in or around Quarter 2 (April-June) of 2023. The opportunities are organized as follows:
The opportunities are organized as follows:
Multi-disciplinary awards and recognitions: Upcoming quarter deadlines for prestigious awards and recognitions that are not generally discipline or technical society specific.
Engineering society high honors: Upcoming quarter nomination deadlines for top-tier engineering society recognitions/medals.
Engineering society division level or other achievement recognitions: Upcoming quarter nomination deadlines for division level or other achievement recognitions within a specific society or organization.
Engineering society fellow recognitions: Upcoming quarter deadlines for engineering society fellow/associate fellow nominations.
If you are interested in nominating a CoE colleague/being nominated for any of these awards or others, please contact your Head or School Award Committee Chair to learn about assistance that may be available to you from the school. At the College level, nomination requests can be submitted through this online form, preferably at least 2 months before the nomination deadline. Dr. John Grundy runs the College's External Awards and Recognitions Program, and works closely with me, the heads, and the Dean's Awards Committee to make 70+ nominations for prestigious external recognitions each year.
If you have not done so recently, we also encourage you to take advantage of the Pivot search engine which is available through Purdue Libraries. Pivot now also covers prestigious recognition opportunities in addition to funding opportunities. Its proprietary algorithm compiles pre-populated Purdue researcher profiles and matches them to an editorially maintained database of funding and recognition opportunities. Further information on setting up or claiming your Pivot profile is found in this brief Pivot Quick Reference Guide. If you have any questions or would like a one-on-one demonstration, please contact Sue Grimes, Assistant Director of Research Development Services, EVPRP.
