College of Engineering Dean H. T. Yang Faculty Excellence Award for Leadership in Service

Purpose: The purpose of this award is to recognize excellence in faculty leadership through internal service that has a significant positive impact within Purdue Engineering.

Due: February 1, 2024

Eligibility: Any faculty member with at least a half-time appointment in the College of Engineering. Those who have previously received this award within the past five years are not eligible. This award can also be a team award with up to a maximum of ten nominated as part of the team.

  • Significant impact on formal/informal faculty mentoring and advocacy as evidenced by letters of support from colleagues.
  • Significant impact on colleagues through sustained efforts to nominate them for external awards and recognitions as evidenced by the nominated faculty member’s support letters.
  • Significant impact by helping develop an environment, where everyone, from diverse backgrounds and ideas, is included and inspired to achieve each individual's full potential, as evidenced by support letters from the beneficiaries or other that have observed the impact.

Procedures:

  • Candidates may be nominated by any faculty or staff member in the College of Engineering.
  • The nomination package should include:
