Firestarter gives clients the opportunity to explore potential markets, customers and financial models. At the end of the process, each member has the necessary information to decide if there is value in the idea and if it makes sense to continue moving forward.

X-Celerator

X-Celerator is an undergraduate summer internship program. Between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of August, participants will learn and apply the necessary skills to develop innovations into commercial realization. The end goal is to have the product developed at a sufficient level to be highly competitive and attract funding through programs such as the Burton Morgan Business Model Competition or Elevate Purdue Foundry Fund.

The Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship Pitch School Program gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to practice their pitches to a live audience of experienced experts and receive feedback in a close safe environment. Experts provide detailed feedback on the storyline, review each slide in the presentation and discuss high-level business model issues.

BoilerMake is a hackathon that brings over 500 hackers from across the country under one roof for one incredible weekend. As a team, our mission is to empower each and every hacker to build anything that they can imagine, and we’ll pull out all the stops to make sure that dream becomes a reality. We find happiness in knowing that every hacker will walk out of our doors with memories that will last a lifetime.

In conjunction with the Purdue Foundry, the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship utilizes the J-1 visa program to assist individuals with obtaining a J-1 in order to research the entrepreneurial processes of ideation, business model generation, business plan creation, customer discovery and ultimately creating and launching a new venture.

Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR)

The Foundry deploys Entrepreneurs in Residence to advise client companies through the development of a commercialization plan. The EIR is an experienced entrepreneur with both industry and management experience. They have led startup companies and understand the steps needed to develop a sustainable business model. EIRs also insure Foundry resources are available to the startup company.

The Purdue Railyard is a 26,140-square-foot coworking space where Purdue and community members can create, collaborate, and learn. This space provides the entrepreneurial energy to network, hold events and meetings, use conferencing space and eat or have a cup of coffee at the Express Cafe.
