Nazmul Haque — Bangladesh

Materials Engineering, Ph.D.
Graduation: December 2025

I am developing a tool to directly visualize and quantify localized stresses in polymer composites that cause their sudden failure. Our research will help to design better, prototype these materials, reduce manufacturing costs and increase their service life.

A

Playing soccer. I am in for both indoor and outdoor soccer. Purdue intramural is a great tournament to meet and play with many soccer enthusiasts on campus.

Q

Favorite food and why:

A

Biriyani, it's a traditional Bangladeshi/Indian food where rice is mixed with meat or vegetable and cooked slowly with tons of different spices. It is full of amazing aroma and the slow cooking makes the meat juicy and tender where you can taste the flavor in every bite.

Q

Favorite vacation spot and why:

A

St. Martin's Island, a coral island which is the southernmost part of Bangladesh. It is the most beautiful place with an amazing sea view having crystal clear water, coconut and palm tree lines, wonderful locals. You can see the live corals through the water, get boat rides, enjoy local fish. Personally, I love to lay on a bench and listen to the sound of the sea late at night with moon light flooding the whole world.
